CISSA furthers worthiness for a School’s jubilee

Glad that yesterday CiSSA could bring a pinch of worthiness to the platinum jubilee celebration of Karthika Thirunal Girls Higher Secondary School, Manacaud, Thiruvananthapuram. Chief contribution of CISSA was in the form of an exhibition of organic agri products as well as an erudite seminar led by its expert scientists.

The event Chaired by Hon. Corporation Ward Councilor, Shri. R. Mini was inaugurated by Hon. MLA, Shri. V.S. Sivakumar. On the occasion quite appropriately, four farmers who could set successful models of organic farming were felicitated by Hon. MLA. They were: Shri. Mohanan Nair, Shri. Raveendran, Shri. Harilal and Shri. Dominic. Hon. Councilor, Fort Ward, Shri. R. Suresh; Parent Teachers’ Association President, Shri. R. Rajukumar; Shri. M.R. Satheesh Chandran; and VHSE Principal, Smt. Jottila Joys spoke felicitating the programme.

CISSA’s organic farm exhibition lived beyond everyone’s expectation with the profound input provided by Shri. Manoharan Nair, Shri. Raveendran and Ammakoottam, a popular mothers consortium in agriculture from Nanniyode in the district. Shri. Manoharan Nair also gifted ten dwarf coconut seedlings to ten students free of cost.

The seminar sessions were deftly led by Dr. C.K. Peethambaran (Director, Agriculture, CISSA), Prof. P. Reghunath, Dr. C. Suresh Kumar (General Secretary, CISSA) and Dr. N.G. Balachandranath (Head, Organic Farming Resource Centre, CISSA).

School Headmaster, Shri. S. Rajendran welcomed participants and Convener, Haritha Jeevanam, Shri. V. Jayachandran proposed vote of thanks.

Yet another attraction was a wildlife photography by a team of professional photographers.
