Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) is one of the thrust areas of United Nations University (UNU) which aims at creating regional networks for the promotion of the idea. UNU envisions that such networks can address local sustainable development challenges through research and capacity development. Thus born were Regional Centres of Expertise on ESD, or in short, RCEs. It’s indeed gladdening that CISSA has been selected as a RCE candidate by the UNU.
Now underway in Cha-am, Thailand, is Asia-Pacific RCE meeting from 27th of June onward. CISSA’s words are duly echoed in this global confluence of RCEs and RCE candidate institutions. Thanks to Mr. Sachin Sathyarajan. Mr. Sachin has already delivered presentations on the diverse activities going on at CISSA, as well as our future endeavours. The current RCE meeting is in conjunction with the International Conference on Climate Change, Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services for the Sustainable Development Goals scheduled for 27-30 June, for which also, Mr. Sachin represents CISSA.
