Huge crowd was on a last hour jostling for getting tasty bulbs of their favourite varieties of jackfruit and a variety of value added products from the fruit today at Sooryakanthi Lawns of Kanakakunnu, Thiruvananthauram. That marked an exceptional finale of the 10-day Jackfruit Mela began on 22 July.
CISSA was a major partner of the fest, operating a Knowledge Pavilion serving scientific information on Jackfruit’s immense potentials. Posters created with an insight, photos and exhibition cum sale of books from Navdanya and CISSA multiplied the worthiness of the pavilion.
At the grand finale, Shri. KC Shashidhar, former CGM of NABARD was a valuable guest at CISSA’s pavilion. The unexpected guest was received by General Secretary of CISSA, Dr. C. Suresh Kumar and head of Jackfruit Promotion Council, Shri. Pankajakshan.
Now, CISSA expresses its boundless thanks to all dear face book friends and well wishers who provided unflagging support and encouragement for making its participation in the jackfruit fest a grand success.
