Organic farming is the most acceptable area in the contemporary agricultural scenario. Organic farming is the only alternative for healthy soil, plant, food and eco friendly environment. With this aim CISSA is promoting organic farming in homesteads. Under Shreshtakrishi division CISSA now popularising organic vegetable cultivation in grow bags . We are intended to supply 25 – 50 prepared grow bags in home site. It is based on the needs of the people who are interested in organic farming. Idea behind this endeavor is to produce safe to eat vegetables and to meet the daily requirement for a nuclear family. Most of the homestead cultivators require after care . Taking into this under consideration CISSA prepare to address this problem also by periodic visit of trained persons to homesteads with the help of highly qualified professionals. Already model unit has been established in few homesteads. As a first step this project has been envisioned in and around Thiruvananthapuram city.
