At the five-day KAPILA FEST 2016 going on at CMS College, Kottayam, the three-day National Seminar organized by CISSA continue to stir hearts about the priceless gift of our own biodiversity – native cows. CISSA’s five-day exhibition is also adding life to the whole programme. Among the important lectures held yesterday were a speech on ‘Health and wealth through native cow’ by Dr. Niranjan Varma, Director, Panchagavya Research Centre, Kancheepuram, Chennai.
“Panchagavya is a panacea for all illnesses”, he said. Dr. Varma informed that diabetics is fully curable. “Milk of a native cow is purified water which would gift about 70 % resistance to the consumer” he reminded.
If our disrespect to native traditions and culture continued in the current scale, it will challenge the very existence of people, was the observation noted activist, Claude Alvares had for Indians. He was talking on ‘Native cows and biodiversity conservation’.
Head, Organic Farming Division of CISSA, Dr. C.K. Peethambaran presented a paper on the use of native cow products for opulence of organic agriculture. On the chair was Dr. C. Suresh Kumar, General Secretary, CISSA. Seminar Coordinator, Dr. E.K. Easwaran, Dr. Jayadevan Nampoothiri, Dr. P. Girish Kumar, Chairman, Vadakara Pasu Samrakshana Trust; Mr. Vivekanandan, Mr. K. Anilkumar and Mr. Brahmadattan Nampoothirippad spoke on the occasion.
